FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lights! Camera! Austin! –– aGLIFF brings glamour and glitz for the Oscars –– Austin style.
AGLIFF (Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival) rolls out the red carpet on Sunday March 7 for an Oscar party like no other benefiting Austin non profits aGLIFF as well as The Paul Kirby Emergency Fund at AIDS Services of Austin. More than a viewing party, Austin will glam the night away at the iconic Driskill Hotel for performance at its best with outrageously funny emcees Rebecca Havemeyer and Mocha Jean Herrup.
We’ll be tuning into the 82nd annual Academy Awards hooplah in Los Angeles (screens everywhere!), but it’ll be a BIG night in Austin, too. Expect our emcees to rival any Hollywood production, including a live opening number, spot-on (and irreverently funny!) Oscar observations, games, a well-involved crowd and scathingly brilliant tributes to the Best Picture nominees like you’ve never seen!
Interested in the Best Ad Placement in A Film category? You’re probably the only one, but no problem. There will be a room set aside strictly for viewing, so you’ll be able to step away from the frivolity to catch it.
NOMINEES
Treat yourself like an Oscar nominee and enjoy a three-course meal prepared by The Driskill’s award-winning chefs. The $100 tickets for this seated dinner include a private viewing room. There also is the option to create your own tablescape for a chance to win a special Sandra Lee Honor. Tickets for the seated dinner are available online only. Tables of 10 may also be secured.
SUPPORTING CAST
General admission tickets –– $30 online/$35 at the door ––include all the fun and entertainment, as well as truffled popcorn and other twists on movie concessions.
All guests will have access to the Mezzanine Level party, entrance into an Oscar Pool with a chance to win $500. There also will be opportunities to walk away with special prize packages throughout the evening.
FILMMAKERS
Have you signed up for your 2010 aGLIFF membership? Memberships of Director Level ($150) and above can receive 50 percent discounts and/or free tickets to the Oscar party. Join now to take advantage of this great opportunity.
