In the 1960s the sleeping pill Thalidomide wreaked havoc on fetuses in Europe and led to tens of thousands of stillbirths or multiple birth defects. This TV docudrama is the story of one German lawyer's struggle against the giant pharmaceutical company that caused this tragedy. This health care issue from the past is still very relevant today in our ongoing debate over health care, insurance companies, and giant pharmaceutical corporations.
