Filmmaker Grants News
The Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival turns 21 this year (finally legal!) and moves to a new venue, the Alamo Ritz, for the full 5 days of the festival, Sept. 3-7.
Being the biggest gay & lesbian fest in the Southwest, AGLIFF screens a good number of films from the Lone Star State, several of which have been supported by AFS in some way:
- Ajae Clearway's short CLOUDED. Ajae's previous film ONE IN 2000 has been a sponsored project of AFS.
- Jenn Garrison's documentary short GREG received a TFPF post-production grant in 2006.
- PJ Raval & Jay Hodges' TRINIDAD received two grants from TFPF, in 2004 & 2006, back when it was called BEST KEPT SECRET.
- Yen Tan's CIAO was edited by multiple TFPF recipient David Lowery and Yen received a travel grant for the film's premiere at Outfest this year.
There are many other excellent titles from the festival circuit playing over the week, so pick up your bages & passes today!
