Beginning as a distribution company that favored physicalmedia and specialized in niche film & music combination packages, Factory 25 has emerged as one of the most important curatorial voices of newindependent American films. In an era when few distributors take risks on low-budget films by no-name directors, Factory 25 has shepherded the work of the next generation of US auteurs. This month, AFS shines a light on Factory 25 and screens three of our recent favorite films distributed by the label. This series includes: CONVENTO, THE OREGONIAN and FRANCINE.
In this unusual, naturalistic drama, Oscar-winner Melissa Leo gives a show stopping performance as an animal loving ex-convict who is ill-suited for the modern world.
