For more than two decades, The Austin Film Society has served as the hub of Austin’s vibrant film community. Summer @ Austin Studios offers a unique opportunity to work with local filmmakers and experience the magic of film and filmmaking.

ABOUT SCARY FILMMAKING CAMP (AGES 12-15)
EEIIIHHH!!  Like scary movies?  Then learn about what makes these movies tick, from universal themes all the way down to how suspenseful moments are created!  Explore the fundamentals, going as far back as age-old folk tales like the Brothers Grimm, working forward to contemporary age-appropriate psychological thrillers.  Participants will create their own short films, developing projects from idea all the way through final edit.  This camp includes visual effects learning, select screenings, behind-the-scenes activities and a culminating screening… be very afraid!
