Crowdfunding - Statistics and Strategy - For Producers
Is crowdFUNDING a reliable ALTERNATIVE to traditional film financing?

Mon, 14 May, 2012 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

"Is crowdFUNDING a reliable ALTERNATIVE to traditional film financing?"

YES – if used with social media strategy and statistical analysis to measure your campaign effectiveness. Successful campaigns earning between $50k- $3M will serve as case studies during "Crowdfunding - Statistics and Strategy - For Producers". Public may attend, producers highly encouraged

This seminar will share WHAT crowdFUNDING mathematically requires to actually be successful, WHY crowdFUNDING has more long term importance than traditional financing, and HOW crowdFUNDING will change the creator/audience model forever.

Reserve your tickets with the link below. The event begins with a tour of Austin Studios by AFS Programs and Operations Manager, Ryan Long, followed by the main seminar in the AFS screening room with Q&A afterward. Subject matter experts in marketing and social media strategy will be in attendance.

Beverages and Refreshments provided.

Speakers:

BRIAN BRISKEY, a Producer of Marketing and Distribution based in Austin. His previous work includes five years with the U.S. Army Special Operations Command to produce and disseminate propaganda across three theaters of war; and two years as a broadcast journalist with American Forces Network in Central America and National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. He was awarded the esteemed Volunteer Service Medal for his work with orphanages while in Honduras. Brian graduated from Thomas Edison State College with a BA in Communications but he attributes his success and "can do" attitude to the marriage of military strategy with the "New Film Paradigm". @a_v_taskforce

CHRIS GREEN, a Producer of Marketing and Distribution living in Austin. With 30-years experience in sound production for prime-time TV events including The Oscars, Super Bowl, NASCAR, ESPN, and Major-League Sports, Chris has adapted his technical and managerial skills for live performance events and film production. As an avid movie fan and proponent of foreign films, Chris also attends nearly every AFS and Cine Las Americas screening/event - remember the beard.

ELIZABETH QUINTINILLA, a Marketing Gunslinger working in Austin. Her consultancy firm provides Social Media Marketing, branding, advertising, and SEO, for business-to-business and business-to-consumer clients in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Elizabeth advises leadership on the latest practices, and technologies while developing solutions to complex business problems. Outside of work she can often be seen leading a Jack and Adam bike ride and supporting the Livestrong Foundation. @equintanilla

PAUL LAFOUREST, a Mathematics Instructor at Austin Community College in Austin. His degrees in Mathematics and Audio Recording led him to produce sound for music, video games, and film. Besides crunching numbers for crowdfunding campaigns, Paul also sings, plays lead guitar and bass in an Indie Rock/Pop band that's just getting its feet wet in the Austin scene.

MIKE HAMM, a Social Media Manager from Austin. Mike has worked with social media in promoting the Texas Horror Genre of film for over five years. His continual activism in Austin film has led to the collaboration of various productions to better reach their audience. While his background is in accounting, Mike enjoys sparking conversations about what makes Texas, Austin, and Genre films so awesome. @im_mikehamm

PJ CHRISTIE, a Producer of Marketing and Distribution located in Austin. After promoting and securing gigs with bands, PJ went on to promote, advocate and secure distribution for film. Additional skills in the web and mobile development market give a special edge to PJ's success-driven strategy with audience to “grow your base”.
