THE AFS GRANT (Formerly the Texas Filmmakers' Production Fund) 2013 Application goes online April 1st! We award grants once a year to emerging film and video artists in the state of Texas through our Texas Filmmakers' Production Fund. Since 1996 the Austin Film Society has awarded 436 grants, totaling over $1.2 million in cash and goods and services to 348 film and video projects... |

"MAKE" LEVEL MEMBERSHIP About a quarter of our members join at the "Make" level, a membership level designed specifically for filmmakers. Our filmmakers are a vibrant community of working and aspiring artists who are developing their craft. THE AFS TRAVEL GRANT Each year, more and more Texas filmmakers are showing their work at major festivals like Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, Los Angeles, Tribeca, Slamdance and many others. Travel grants are also available on a rolling basis for Texas filmmakers to attend national and international festivals... |

WORKS-IN-PROGRESS AFS Filmmaker level and higher members are invited to submit their Docs-In-Progress and Narratives-In-Progress to be screened among other filmmakers for feedback. Each screening is a networking opportunity and a window into the creative process... |

MOVIEMAKER DIALOGUES These panel discussions or workshops provide a setting to hear from and soak up advice from visiting filmmakers. AFS Filmmaker level and higher members are encouraged to use these opportunities to engage established filmmakers in an educational environment... |

FISCAL SPONSORSHIP AFS Filmmaker members can submit their projects for fiscal sponsorship. If approved, the filmmaker can use AFS's 501 (c)(3) status as an "umbrella" when applying to government granting agencies and foundations that will only grant funds to non-profit organizations... |
