13TH ANNUAL TEXAS FILM HALL OF FAME AWARDS

MORGAN FAirchild

MORGAN FAIRCHILD is an icon of beauty, glamour and success. Born and raised in Dallas, she began her acting career as a stand-in for Faye Dunaway in the film classic BONNIE AND CLYDE, which was shooting in Texas and Fairchild was only 16. Since that auspicious beginning, she has continuously captivated us from stage and screen. She perfected her diva persona on soaps like FALCON CREST, PAPER DOLLS and FLAMINGO ROAD, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination and propelled her to stardom. As “Sydney Chase” on THE CITY, she played the shrewd head of a media conglomerate and joked, “I’m playing Rupert Murdoch in drag.” Though she perfected the ambitious bitch persona, Fairchild frequently shows her sense of humor in roles like “Marla,” Sandra Bernhard’s bisexual girlfriend on ROSEANNE, a cameo in NAKED GUN 33 1/3: THE FINAL INSULT, and a guest turn on MURPHY BROWN, which earned her an Emmy nomination. Her varied film roles include THE RED-HEADED STRANGER opposite Willie Nelson, the cult classic PEE WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE, GOSPA opposite Martin Sheen, the indie SHATTERED ILLUSIONS and CAMPUS MAN with Kim Delaney. On the Board of Directors for the Screen Actors Guild and Hollywood Women’s Political Committee, Fairchild proves that beauty and brains can go together.
