AFS is partnering with Fantastic Fest to take advantage of legendary stunt talent they're hosting at a high-flying, flame filled stunt show on Sept 25. Offering stunt fans the opportunity to talk to these "Danger Gods" in person and on stage, on Sept 27, AFS and Fantastic Fest are inviting these greats, who are also old friends, to join us for a couple of hours of charbroiled meat, drinks, reminiscence, true stories, tall tales and life advice.
We've never been frugal with the terms "once in a lifetime" and "unforgettable", but we think these words apply in full to this spellbinding evening. The discussion will be moderated by programmers Zack Carlson and Lars Nilsen. You cannot miss this.
Our guests will be:
Gary Kent: actor, author, director and stunt god. His Jack Nicholson stories alone are worth the price of admission.
Chuck Bail: you may have seen him playing himself in Richard Rush's THE STUNT MAN. His list of credits a mile long. As a director he made THE GUMBALL RALLY and CLEOPATRA JONES AND THE CASINO OF GOLD among others.
John "Bud" Cardos: Seemingly half the fight scenes in the sixties were doubled by the iron-headed Bud Cardos. He also directed more than his share of movies, including KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS, THE DARK, & FORBIDDEN WORLD
Bobby Sargent: Grew up in the stunt industry surrounded by the great generation of stunt innovators that preceded him. A fount of stories and lore. Sargent has performed and coordinated stunts for scores of films including such favorites as SHARKY'S MACHINE and FIRST BLOOD.
Bob Ivy: Starting with THE DUKES OF HAZARD in 1985, Bob Ivy has been one of the most reliable and busy wheelmen and jack-of-all-stunts out there. The towering Ivy has created and performed stunts in a dizzyingly large number of films and TV shows including NEAR DARK and BUBBA HO-TEP.
