The Austin Film Society's Doc Nights is our opportunity to bring the best in recent and classic documentaries to the big screen at the Marchesa each month. When possible, a post-screening Q&A session will be held with the filmmaker either in person or via Skype. Some of our recent highlights include Shirley Clarke’s masterful portrait of jazz musician ORNETTE, Academy Award-nominated 5 BROKEN CAMERAS, GREGORY CREWDSON (including Skype Q&A with director Ben Shapiro), RADIO UNNAMEABLE (with filmmakers Paul Lovelace and Jessica Wolfson in attendance), KOCH, and HOW TO SURVIVE A PLAGUE (with special ActUp/NYC activist Brian Zabcik in attendance). Browse our past screenings for a full list of films we have screened.
Tickets are free for AFS Love and Premiere members, $5 for AFS Make and Watch members and students with a valid ID, and $8 for all others. Screenings will generally be held at the Marchesa (6226 Middle Fiskville Rd), but please check each individual screening for specific location and time.
