AFS Classes & Workshops

Austin Film Society staff will host workshops on Zoom to inform and answer questions about the 2022 AFS Grant for Short Films, which will be accepting applications August 3 through September 16. Please join us to learn about new grant opportunities, the application and review processes, and ask your project-specific questions.

Since its inception in 1996, the AFS Grant has awarded over $2.2 million in cash grants and more than $400k in-kind goods and services to 425+ Texas filmmakers, creating life-changing opportunities for artists traditionally underrepresented in the film industry and working outside large industry centers. In addition to grants for development, production, post-production, and distribution, we provide cash stipends to Texas filmmakers traveling to prestigious film festivals through its AFS Travel Grant program. Check out past grant recipients here.

Please email us at filmmakersupport@austinfilm.org if you have any questions regarding the grant or info sessions.
