Basic understanding of camera functions (shutter speed, frame rate, ISO, white balance, iris, framing, etc) is necessary.
This intermediate, onsite class covers the setup, general operation and workflows for the devices included in our Blackmagic Design multi-camera take-home kits that includes the devices and accessories listed below. This kit will provide gear needed for a field production with a focus on video podcasting and at-home productions during Austin Public’s limited COVID-19 operations.
This course certifies Producers in the following equipment to then reserve at no additional cost. Everything will be listed as one kit on the Producer Portal:
- Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Pro switcher
- Blackmagic Design 6K Pocket Cameras (x3)
- RODECaster podcast production studio audio board
- SHURE SM7B Microphones (x2)
- 13″ Macbook Pro laptop
- 15.6″ portable monitor
- Manfrotto Tripods and/or Gorilla Pods
- HDMI & XLR Cables and other needed accessories
Active Producers or those planning on joining the Producer Program only. Class will be onsite in Austin Public’s Conference Room. Basic understanding of camera functions (shutter speed, frame rate, ISO, white balance, iris, framing, etc) is necessary.
We acknowledge this class can only teach the set up and basics of the production kit devices over the 3-hours and that it will be on the Producer to practice and take advantage of other training videos supplied on AFS’ website. A 30 minute live virtual lab can be scheduled for no additional cost with an AFS staff member upon request.
***Lights not included in the Multi-Cam kit and taught separately. Green Screen is available to all active Producers but not taught in this class***
