Continuing Education

This four-hour workflow course is an intensive, behind-the-curtain look at how data, information, and teams move together to power truly efficient, cost-effective filmmaking. From the earliest stages of development through final delivery, we’ll break down the full life cycle of a project, highlighting practical, real-world methods for streamlining communication, eliminating waste, and building smarter systems that keep more money on the screen. Because every production has its own unique challenges, this class serves as a high-level master overview rather than a deep dive into any single discipline. You’ll be introduced to the full ecosystem of crew roles, paperwork, tools, software, and on-set/post-production workflows used across the industry. By the end, you’ll understand how to identify the right tools, evaluate production needs, and design a customized, cost-saving workflow that carries any project smoothly from idea to finished film.

Previously offered under the class title, ‘Post Production Professional Workflows’

Topics covered include:

  • Proper pre-production preparation
  • Round tripping
  • Standard operating procedures
  • Proper logs and other communication between production and post
  • Media management
  • Compression/decompression
  • Conforming, finishing, and color grading
  • Sound mix
  • LUTs
  • Deliverables
