This is an online version of our field lighting techniques class that focuses on how professional cinematographers design cinematic lighting for storytelling, from 4-point lighting and beyond. A Zoom Link will be emailed out the morning of the class.
This online class will include discussions about:
- The realities of lighting on professional sets
- Light intensity, direction, color & shadow quality
- Insight on how pro cinematographers approach, plan, and carry out creative lighting for different projects
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Ángel Granados
After graduating from UCLA’s MFA Cinematography program, award-winning cinematographer Ángel Granados served as an in-house cinematographer for the American Society of Cinematographers in Hollywood. After almost 20 years of professional work in 15 countries, he now teaches at UCLA and as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City.
