Adobe After Effects is a compositing, motion graphics, and digital visual effects application developed by Adobe Systems and used in the post-production process of film making and television production. In this class we will introduce students to the basic tools and workflows for compositing layers and elements to create VFX shots such as working with green screens, tracking shots to incorporate elements into a plate, overview of the new content-aware fill tool and basic color grading techniques using the Lumetri panel.

This class certifies Producers within Austin Public’s Producer Program in the following equipment to then reserve at no additional cost:

  • 21.5″ take-home Apple iMac computers with 16gig RAM (for up to 72 hours at a time) with Adobe Creative Suite CS6 & Creative Cloud as well as other editing software
  • 15″ 2019 Apple Macbook Pro laptops with Adobe Creative Cloud as well as other editing software

Class will take place in Austin Public’s Edit Lab
