Web series are already established as an alternative form to feature and short films online and in the minds of content creators and consumers. Over the years film festivals around the globe have started to take notice and more and more they are welcoming into the fold submissions for short form episodics. For this Moviemaker Dialogue, AFS invites web series creative and spokesperson Tom Chamberlain to discuss which festivals, international and domestic, are web series-friendly, how creators can make the most of their festival experiences, and what other resources are out there to assist them along the way. We’ll also take a look at the art of the web series and discuss its role in the modern media landscape just in time for 2020 festivals submission deadlines.
