AFS Classes & Workshops

THE ART OF STORYTELLING is a 2-day, onsite class dedicated to exploring the multifaceted world of narrative storytelling for the screen. In the first class day, we’ll go over all of the elements of storytelling  and also develop a concept for an original feature-length film using ekphrastic writing techniques. The elements of storytelling will included:

  • Character design
  • Worldbuilding
  • Conflict
  • The three-act structure

After day one, you’ll then have 48-hours to prepare for day two, which will run much like a writer’s room as we create an outline for a concept and put what we’ve learned into motion. This 2-day class  is experimental in nature and rooted in creative collaboration.
