Author Glenn Frankel will join us for a special screening of the epochal 1969 film MIDNIGHT COWBOY. Frankel has written the definitive book on the subject of its making, Shooting Midnight Cowboy, and he will share details and insights about the work.

MIDNIGHT COWBOY follows an odd couple of characters in New York, street-wise Ratso Rizzo (Dustin Hoffman) and Joe Buck, a handsome but naive young Texan who tries to make a living as a hustler (Jon Voight). Copresented with Texas Book Festival.

Glenn Frankel will also participate in a Texas Book Festival panel “Art, Sex, Loneliness, Liberation, and the Making of a Dark Cinematic Classic” on October 26.
