SORRY WRONG NUMBER
Barbara Stanwyck gets a chance to really sink her teeth into a big, show-stopping role in SORRY WRONG NUMBER. She plays a spoiled heiress in an unhappy marriage who spends the climactic chapters of the film bedridden. When she is accidentally patched into a telephone conversation between two men plotting a crime, she becomes terrified and from there the suspense builds to the point of hysteria. Stanwyck, always such an excellent performer, plays this suspense material for all it’s worth. She’s aided and abetted by her co-stars Burt Lancaster and Ed Begley in this noirish classic.

SUBURBIA W/ PENELOPE SPHEERIS
A masterpiece of not only punk cinema, but of the cinema of disaffected and alienated youth everywhere. Spheeris uses non-actors to tell the story of a band of teenage punks who carve out their own community with their own values as they squat in an abandoned suburban house. This is no utopia, they have internal problems, but their real problem is the adults who stalk them and eventually bring about a conflict that forces everyone to confront themselves and measure their commitment to their way of life. Both authors of “Destroy All Movies: The Complete Guide To Punks On Film” agree that this is the best punk film ever made and we’re not arguing.
