An homage to the unique, idiosyncratic, and customized old pickup trucks driven by Latino day laborers and the intimacy that is cultivated in and around them.
IMMIGRANT WORKERS REBUILDING HOUSTON by Set Hernandez (8m)
As Texas rebuilds after Hurricane Harvey, immigrant day laborers serve as “second responders,” leading cleanup and reconstruction efforts. Despite their resilience, they face wage theft, safety risks, and anti-immigrant policies. This film highlights their fight for dignity and justice, supported by the National Day Laborer Organizing Network and Fe y Justicia Worker Center.
