Membership FAQs

If you have/had an AFS membership during our temporary closure, we will extend your membership up to 6 months depending on your original expiration date. This extension will be effective upon the AFS Cinema’s reopening, and at that time you’ll receive an email with your updated expiration date. In the meantime, you’ll retain virtual membership benefits, such as free sneak previews and events, discounts on our streaming platform AFS@home, and access to the AFS Discussion Club. Thank you for your support through the AFS membership program!

You may purchase a membership online or over the phone at 512-322-0145 x1. Members receive a variety of benefits, including discounts on film screenings and classes, exclusive invitations, and more! Learn more here.

Discussion Club brings together our member community for conversations about some of our favorite arthouse gems. We’ll be meeting on Zoom each month to talk about the films, and inviting special guests to kick off these discussions. Don’t have time to watch the film(s) before we meet? No problem! Feel free to listen in on these fun and insightful conversations anyway. While we’re away from the AFS Cinema, we’re thankful to have this opportunity to come together to talk about the films we love, from new discoveries to old favorites. Find out more details here.

$10 film passes purchased during the closure will be good for any regularly-priced screening at the AFS Cinema once we reopen (New Release or Signature).

Film passes will be mailed out after shelter-in-place orders have been lifted. Not valid for virtual screenings.
