A group of NGO workers—led by the hard-headed Jacques (Vincent Lindon, THE MEASURE OF A MAN) and his partner Laura (Louise Bourgoin, THE EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES OF ADÈLE BLANC-SEC)—arrive in a war-ravaged African country, ostensibly to supply medical aid and education for orphaned children. Their actual aim is to find 300 orphans for would-be foster parents in France, with the assistance of local fixer Xavier (Reda Kateb, A PROPHET). As the group resorts to ever more dubious methods in pursuit of their goal, Joachim Lafosse’s based-on-fact drama probes the limits of “good intentions” and the darker side of the humanitarian impulse.
