COVID Safety, Rules, & Policies

The health and safety of our guests and of our staff are our top priority. Austin Film Society follows the guidance and recommendations of the CDC and health experts. In alignment with these guidelines the following protocols will be followed until further notice:

AFS CINEMA

Masks

AFS Cinema requires staff and patrons to wear masks inside the venue, regardless of vaccination status, when not eating or drinking. Please put on your mask to ensure the health and safety of all.

Social Distancing

AFS Cinema is limiting the capacity for shows to 60%. Social distancing is recommended for all unvaccinated individuals. 

Hand Sanitizers

Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the lobby and at entrance areas for patrons’ use.

Wash Hands

We ask that all visitors wash their hands. All employees will be required to wash their hands in accordance with city health and food safety guidelines.

Feeling sick?

If you are feeling sick or showing signs of a fever, please stay home. Anyone with active symptoms may be asked to leave and we will refund your ticket.

Sanitization & Cleaning

All highly trafficked areas within the facility will be routinely cleaned and sanitized.

AUSTIN PUBLIC

Masks

In alignment with the City of Austin’s orders, masks are no longer required in city facilities but are recommended and encouraged for unvaccinated individuals. Masks are also optional for vaccinated AFS staff and contract instructors with the following exceptions: 

    • Staff will be required to wear a mask while providing technical support or conducting any task within 3-ft of a Producer, crewmember and/or guest.
    • A Producer, crewmember and/or guest has requested the staff member wear a mask in their presence. 
    • Staff and contract instructors will be required to wear masks when training an onsite class

Social Distancing

In alignment with CDC guidelines, social distancing is recommended for all unvaccinated individuals.

Hand sanitizer stations will be available at stations throughout the building (studios and equipment room) and at entrance areas for guests’ use.

We ask that all visitors wash their hands. All employees will be required to wash their hands in accordance with city health and food safety guidelines.

Feeling sick?

If you are feeling sick or showing signs of a fever, please stay home. Anyone with active symptoms may be asked to leave. If a Producer is asked to leave, then the Producer may not continue unless someone else on site is certified for the studio in use.  

Sanitization & Cleaning

All high touch areas within the facility will be routinely cleaned and sanitized, as well all equipment and gear in between uses.
