Synopsis: The Cowboy Capital by Artur Owczarski, a captivating documentary exploring the vibrant history, unique culture, and enduring values of the small town of Bandera, Texas. The project is a touching documentary about nostalgia for the days of the Wild West narrated by the people of Bandera, who spin a tale of cowboy culture. A tale that tells you about respect for the roots, the attachment to life in the Texas countryside and the preserved values that guide their lives to this day.

The film draws inspiration from the true story of a special agent from Cold-War Poland who assumed the identity of a German woman’s son, creating false family ties to launch a successful espionage career. This gripping narrative explores how global politics can devastate the lives of ordinary people.

ABOUT AUSTIN POLISH FILM FESTIVAL

The 2024 Austin Polish Film Festival boasts a curated lineup of ten full-feature films and three insightful documentaries. The festival starts on Thursday, November 7th and goes on through Sunday, November 10th. APFF’s mission is to build cultural connection between people in Austin and Poland, promote social understanding and tolerance, and provide high quality entertainment through the medium of Polish film.
