Go Nightclubbing Presents

There are no current or future screenings planned for this film.

In the ‘70s and ‘80s Emily Armstrong and Pat Ivers were everywhere in NYC’s thriving music clubs, video equipment in hand, documenting the acts that passed through. In the process they have accumulated a one-of-a-kind archive of alternative musical documents. Here is part three, featuring clips from some of the greatest performances they have captured, along with their memories of the people involved.

Here is the complete lineup, which will be followed by a discussion with Emily and Pat about their memories of the people and times:

Greatest Hits

A thrilling journey through NY’s fertile downtown music scene from Punk to No Wave to New Wave, this program captures the raw excitement of bands live and unfiltered during the tumultuous years of 1977 to 1980. Mining the Gonightclubbing archive of over 80 groups and hundreds of hours of performances, Greatest Hits captures an honest and unvarnished look at a burgeoning movement and offers up the very best performances in one heart-stopping package. Dead Boys with Divine, Bad Brains, Gogos, the Cramps, Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers, Lydia Lunch, and Iggy Pop are among the seminal artists in this groundbreaking program. Play it loud!
