History of TV: WEIRD, WEIRD WEST

History of Television

There are no current or future screenings planned for this film.

When television was still a young medium, the Western was perhaps the most popular genre of them all. This selection of episodes showcases some of the oddest moments of Western TV history, when these shows about frontier life provided wide-open opportunities for narrative content – some of it surprisingly progressive – that could not be contained by any other genre.

This event, which takes place at the Austin Public studio (1143 Northwestern Avenue) is free and open to the public.
