ABOUT VALLEY OF THE DOLLS

Based on Jacqueline Susann’s scandalous best seller, the much-anticipated 1967 film about booze, pills and showbiz was a spectacular mess.

Actresses Barbara Parkins, Patty Duke, Sharon Tate, and Susan Haywood chewed up the scenery for breakfast and spat out a film for a generation of gay men to quote, spoof and reenact.

From the theatrics of old Broadway to the balmy glamour of L.A. – and all of the dolls (pills) downed with vodka in between – VALLEY OF THE DOLLS is trashy take on fame, love and the vices that derail us and lands among Advocate’s Top Essential Films of All Time for LGBTQ Viewers.
