We will be joined for an introduction by co-directors Maya Cueva and Leah Galant and a post-screening Q&A with journalist and former CultureMap editor Katie Friel, Lake Highlands High School valedictorian Paxton Smith, and Jaylynn Farr Munson, Development & Communications Manager for Fund Texas Choice. 

ON THE DIVIDE follows the story of three Latinx people living in McAllen, Texas who, despite their views, are connected by the most unexpected of places: the last abortion clinic on the U.S./Mexico border. As threats to the clinic and their personal safety mount, our three characters are forced to make decisions they never could have imagined.

Recognized as 2021 DOC NYC “40 Under 40”, co-directors Maya Cueva and Leah Galant filmmaking debut will make its national broadcast premiere on Monday, April 18th at 10pm ET on PBS (please check your local listings for more details) and streaming online at pov.org, where it will be available to stream free until May 18, 2022.
