In the ‘70s and ‘80s Emily Armstrong and Pat Ivers were everywhere in NYC’s thriving music clubs, video equipment in hand, documenting the acts that passed through. In the process they have accumulated a one-of-a-kind archive of alternative musical documents. Here is part two, anchored by the only filmed Pylon show in existence, from 1980. With Armstrong & Ivers In Person!
Here’s the Complete Lineup:
Pylon In Concert
Athens, Georgia’s finest, Pylon remains one of the great underground cult bands of the late 70s and early 80s. Unforgettable.
New Wave
In 1980, from Tokyo to Minneapolis, punk music was evolving to create New Wave. With a poppy, electronic sound, bands like The Plastics, The Suburbs, Ballistic Kisses, Bush Tetras, The Go-Go’s, Human Sexual Response, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Our Daughters Wedding, and Strange Party embodied this musical shift
