“An explosive action film like they used to make, with creative car chases on Hong Kong’s iconic Nathan Road, wild shoot-outs and intense hand-to-hand combat. Aided by the star magnetism of Yen and Tse, and back in his element on the colorful streets of Hong Kong, Benny Chan goes out with both guns blazing.” – G. Allen Johnson, San Francisco Chronicle

It is appropriate that the final film directed by the late Benny Chan should be a throwback to the type of ’90s Hong Kong action ragers (BIG BULLET, GEN-X COPS, etc.) that first made his name in the business. The leads here, Donnie Yen and Nicholas Tse, are similarly iconic – and similarly timeless.

Make no mistake – this is a Hong Kong action genre movie from the cracked asphalt streets all the way up to the frosted tips on the drug dealers’ coiffured heads. If you are looking for philosophical musings and experimental editing techniques, we have you covered elsewhere. If you can be thrilled by the classical precision of one of the world’s great genre traditions, executed by some of its leading practitioners, this one may be for you.

Here, Donnie Yen plays the good cop, haunted by the fact that his protege (Nicholas Tse) has turned to the dark side. When circumstances place them against one another, you better believe that fire is going to rage, baby. With several action sequences that will get your heart pumping, and a final fight that may just stop it for good. What a way to go!
