Secret shopper and single mom Janet Leigh inadvertently gets department store salesman Robert Mitchum fired just in time for Christmas. When they see each other again, it’s an unstoppable case of love, even though she already has a very nice boyfriend. The chemistry is not only in the script, it’s all over Leigh and Mitchum’s faces in every shot together. Were it not for the wonderful performers here, this might be a little corny, but as it is, it’s that rare Christmas romance that really works.
