Studio Resource Certification & Control Room Training
(2-Day Course)
This two-day, hands-on certification course is designed for Producers in Austin Public’s Producer Program. It combines essential training in both Studio 1 production resources and Control Room & Multi-Camera operations, providing a comprehensive foundation for creating high-quality studio content. Participants will train in Austin Public’s fully equipped 1200 sq. ft. Studio 1, featuring a DMX lighting system, Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 cameras, green wall, news desk set, and access to a loading dock. In addition, the class covers operation of Studio 1’s Control Room, giving Producers the tools they need to direct, manage and record a multi-camera production
This class provides Producers with the Producer Program hands-on certification training for the Studio 1 space, a 1200 sq. ft. studio space with DMX Lighting system, Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 cameras (x5), news desk set, various risers and a large green wall with access to a loading dock.
What You’ll Learn:
Day 1: Studio Floor Training
• DMX lighting system and light operation
• Studio cameras and camera control units
• General studio protocols, safety, and ladder use
• Prop room orientation, exits, and loading dock overview
Day 2: Control Room & Multi-Camera Training
• Control room terminology, protocols, and safety
• Multi-camera switching using a Ross Carbonite Switcher
• Allen & Heath SQ Audio board and audio workflows
• Teleprompter operation and software
• AJA Ki-Pro recording systems
• ProPresenter and Xpression playback software
• Intercom and communication systems
Our classes do not have age limits, however, the Producer Program is limited to ages 15 and up. For minors attending classes, we require a parent or legal guardian sign THIS WAIVER. Please email a signed copy back to austinpublic@austinfilm.org or bring it in person on or before the class date.
