AFS Cinema Rentals

The AFS Cinema is a two-screen arthouse theater owned and operated by the Austin Film Society. This centrally-located venue, only five miles from downtown, includes ample free parking and a lobby bar serving concessions and cocktails along with wine and beer. Past events have included private screenings, premieres, film festivals, film & commercial productions, business conferences, presentations, and performances.

The theaters are also perfect location for recitals/performances, gaming competitions, meetings and presentations.

GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION




If your exact dates are not yet decided, please supply the month(s) and day(s) of the week you would prefer. For multi-day events, please make it clear how many days you will need for your event.

Please provide the length of your event. For multi-day events, please specify the hours for each day of the event. Three hour minimum is required for public events.


FILM SCREENING EVENT DETAILS

Screening rights are required for all events, even private rentals. AFS can assist with film rental from the rights holder but it is not guaranteed and will incur an additional charge usually between $200-$500 in addition to the venue fee.

The AFS Cinema focuses on showcasing curated AFS and partner programs. While the cinema is happy to offer the venue for outside third party rentals, they can only be scheduled during limited times. Not all inquiries can be accommodated. Submission of the rental inquiry form does not guarantee rental availability at AFS Cinema. Rentals at AFS Cinema are not confirmed until a rental contract is signed with a 50% down payment. 


Third party rentals are not showcased on austinfilm.org, nor placed on our public calendar of events or AFS marketing materials. Rentals are not presented by or partnered with the Austin Film Society or AFS Cinema, nor may they use the logos of AFS or the Cinema for any purpose.


Content Guidelines: The AFS Cinema is not a venue for outside third party rentals that do not align with the AFS Cinema Code of Conduct. AFS Cinema reserves the right to review content to ensure alignment with these guidelines before approving a rental.
