Two hundred and fifty years after being burned at the stake, a beautiful witch (Veronica Lake) is released from her spiritual bondage and then goes after the living descendant (Fredric March) of the man who condemned her. Of course they fall in love, and that’s the name of the game in this delightful, feather-light comedy from French expatriate director René Clair.
