2026 Austin Asian American Film Festival Day 1

Showtime

Wed, Jun 24

This year’s festival, showcasing 34 films by Middle Eastern, Asian, and Asian American filmmakers, features intimate stories that delve into the relationships our protagonists encounter and the personal growth (or lack thereof) that emerges from finding inner strength and reconciling with their identities.

It’s more evident than ever the importance of nurturing and tending to the relationships in our ‘villages’ to ground ourselves. AAAFF invites you to plug into your village or take part in building ours through the art of watching new independent films together.

The Austin Asian American Film Festival (AAAFF) returns for its 18th iteration, taking place June 24-28, 2026, at the AFS Cinema. AAAFF, one of the preeminent AANHPI arts organizations in town, champions Asian and Asian American stories via media arts and empowers Asian Americans to explore opportunities in cinema.
