This 3.5-hour onsite class covers a brief history of Public Access TV and the seven Universal Representations & Warranties that inform what content may be submitted for playback on our public access channels (cablecasted through 3 cable providers) and online streaming. These topics are also useful to know for any type of your own distribution (social media, film festival, streaming, podcasting, etc.)

The seven Representations & Warranties topics covered include:

1. Defamation & Invasion of Privacy laws
2. Texas state obscenities law
3. Material contrary to the law
4. Commercialism
5. Solicitation of funds
6. Unlawful copyright use
7. Immediate danger or damage

This is the one required class to become a Producer at Austin Public and your $12 cost for the class covers your first month of resource access. There will be allotted class time at the end to answer any program questions you may have or receive an update on your program status.

For minors attending classes, we require a parent or legal guardian sign THIS WAIVER.
