“Save the Earth!” As the young generation in Japan became more and more ecologically conscious in the ‘70s, the team behind the popular Godzilla movies made by Toho Studios spotted the trend, hired Akira Kurosawa’s assistant Yoshimitsu Banno to direct, and produced this head-scratching but awesome day-glo artifact about the King Of The Monsters fighting a giant glowing rubber tadpole who thrives on pollutants.
