There are no current or future screenings planned for this film.

Join us for a special screening of this all-time New Wave romance classic, presented by the Women of KOOP. Before the show there will be a DJ set in the lobby by the Women of KOOP and after the screening director Martha Coolidge will join us for a Skype Q&A.

From KOOP DJ Carla Shiflet (Ms. 45s):

“In the early 80s, Martha Coolidge received a salary of $5k to make an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. They gave her $300k and asked her to throw in at least a few boob shots. She spent $250k of the budget on music.

“Come melt into the dreaminess that is 19 year old Nicolas Cage and this phenomenal soundtrack that features classics by Sparks, Bonnie Haynes, Josie Cotton, Modern English, Men at Work, the Plimsouls (instead of X as originally planned), Gary Myrick, and more!”
