This year marks the 30th anniversary of the iconic Austin film DAZED AND CONFUSED, directed by AFS Founder and Artistic Director Richard Linklater and featuring an all-star ensemble cast (Ben Affleck, Parker Posey, Matthew McConaughey).
To celebrate, the Austin Film Society will host several celebrations with proceeds supporting AFS’s nonprofit mission of giving back to the local film community. The events include a DAZED-themed baseball game with Round Rock Express where the first 1500 fans into the stadium will receive DAZED AND CONFUSED bobbleheads.
UPDATE: Due to the unforeseen SAG-AFTRA strike, we have to postpone the special outdoor screening at the Waterloo Greenway’s Moody Amphiteather so cast can attend. Sign up here to receive updates as soon as we announce the new date.
ROUND ROCK EXPRESS BASEBALL GAME
On Saturday, September 16, the Round Rock Express host a DAZED-themed game of baseball against the Las Vegas Aviators, complete with special on-field jerseys, an auction, and fireworks set to tunes from the film after game.
[POSTPONED] 30TH ANNIVERSARY SCREENING
AFS will present a sunset screening of DAZED AND CONFUSED for the film’s 30th anniversary at a date TBD. Audiences will be able to join us at the Moody Amphitheater as the sun sets on downtown Austin.
